So for the Business and Management section, I am required to have a research proposal. Here is what i have so far... Any criticism would be appreciated. Thank you.
Research Proposal
Research Question: How could Google generate more success in the creation and promotion of Google+?
Theoretical Framework: Module 4 (Marketing)
Various areas of marketing (meeting needs profitably) will be taken into consideration. Google has created unsuccessful products such as Google Buzz. Other products which have been almost equally unsuccessful are Google+ and the Chromebook. SWOT and PEST analysis will be used to assess the company’s current position.
Methodology: Primary/Secondary research you will undertake, Anticipated Problems
Primary Research
- Interviews with Google Associates to determine current position of the company, future prospects, advantages and disadvantages of entering the annuities market.
- The flaws and success of current products will be assessed and analyzed to help provide a better understanding of how Google should market their products.
- Surveys from specific target audiences will be given and analyzed in order to provide another sense of the successes and flaws of Google’s current marketing strategies.
- The products of competitors (Facebook, Apple, Twitter, etc.) will also be assessed in order to identify possible changes Google should make in their strategies.
Secondary Research
- Review recent articles regarding the successes and failures of Google’s various products such as Google Buzz, as well as current trends in the market.
- Study customer profiles from existing consumer base of the company, to identify the needs of the current target market.
- Analyze reviews describing the successes and failures of Google+ and its competitors.
Anticipated Problems
- Several sources will be extracted from websites
- Websites have a tendency to be false and/or completely invalid
- A bias in customer reviews due to being loyal to Google, Apple, Android, Iphone, etc.
- Google+ and its competition may not be evaluated with a fair criticism
- Invalid Survey results
- It is hard to get samples of multiple target markets
- Several people will take the survey half-heartedly, which may skew results
